  4. While the dal is getting pressure cooked, heat a pan with half tsp of oil then add sliced onions. Let the onion turn slightly brown then add 3 tsp of grated coconut..
  5. Ground the above mixture in course paste. Keep it aside..
  6. Now take another pan, add 2 tsp of oil, garlic and saute for few seconds. Then add the cooked jackfruit, garam masala and chilli powder and saute for a minute. Then add dal to it and let the entire mixture cook for couple of mins with a small piece of tamarind (u can also use tamarind pulp instead)..
  7. Then add the ground mixture and mix well. Let it cook for 5 mins. The raw jackfruit gravy is ready to serve. This goes very well with hot steamed rice..
